what weights are you talking about?
Distributor. if they're sticking it would cause the weird idling up when its hot, only after driven around. if i let it idle till its at temp it will stay at 750rpm. i drive around it will be around 950. tmorrow after work i'll get a timing light on it to investigate. my timing don't start till about 1200, so if it's not at the 10* i have it set at atthe 900ish rpm it hangs at, then something's hanging up.

I carb base gasket will do that, too. Once things warm up and expand you get a leak.
i've got many a thing to try. idek if i have a vac leak or not yet, it's all just speculation at this point. afr gauge will tell if i have a vac leak or not, as well as my vac gauge, timing light will tell me if advance is happening when it's not supposed too.

In my defense, i did mention the possibility of timing components sticking in the very first post.

it just has two nipple fittings. One in the rear center
That's the one. You pull the tube out with a pair of pliers, drill and tap. I think it is 1/2-20 or so. Then you have a nice big brake vacuum source if you ever need one. But if you don't need it right now, carry on.
