So I guess I should get my mig running again. Seems like the easiest and most economical solution

The fix I did above in post # 47 was pretty easy to do,and even though it was welded,I would still recommend drilling and tapping for a bolt.

How much shaft is inside the housing? It'll be easy for me right now since the drivers fender is still off.

Mine has metal arms at the top of the shaft that are flush with the outside edges of the collar. It doesn't look like it could ever come out. I got it from Tim last year. Maybe Jeep improved it on later models. I drilled it and put a bolt through it anyway.
