what model is his maxima? the SE was rated for a tick under 15 second quarter mile and the other model (gse?) was rated at around 16. 80s montes with the 305 H.O. were around 15.7 from the factory. depending on the model you might have him. you gotta hook it up though cuz fwd will tree you, even if it's gay as nuts.

he has a gle which is the luxury model, and roger idk i would buy an intake manifold, carb spacer, i have a full exhaust, does anybody have any tips on making my SS quicker with out engine swaps etc... and dreamonmontess yea he got really pissed at that, plus if he spun his tired it wouldnt have looked that cool

My Malibu has either 3.73s or 4.11s (still don't know for sure lol). And I can say light to light, i beat a lot of cars with the stock 305. New Hemis, GT Mustangs, all the rice, and even a Skyline (but it was beat up and the driver was lacking in manual transmission skills). I say go for it. Just feed him a little bit of BS, like tel him your car is a real dog off the line. That might make it easier to catch him off guard. And if you can outlaunch him I'm sure he won't catch up to you. Just as long as it's a short race, I think he will take you in top end.

I've got the 4.3 and I can beat the typical low buck ricer. Cavaliers neons focus elantras civics accords and all the other fart can 4cylinders. Ya they make a lot of noise but don't get to far. I kinda like getting the rep of having a slow car cuz when spring rolls around they are all going to be going WTF when the new 350 sits under the hood pushing 425+ hp. Then I'll see who wants to run their mustang or camaro. I have respect for imports not rice. An import can actually get up and go. Take a ride in a new evo or sti and u will be impressed. But I hate when these kids run their mouths and u wish u had the car to shut anyone up but they didn't know wat they were up against. I get a lot of kids asking what my car is in school and they just laugh when I tell them. I just smile and think you just wait 🙂 Save ur money build a decent engine and until it's in the car and he asks u to run ur car just pretend to think about it and decline. haha was this before your 355 swap? i have 3:73's and i keep telling this kid that my car bogs down and ish like that. i can launch around 2,000rpm. if i put a shift kit in my car will it help? i think i can outlaunch him. all he does is put his car in Drive and just hits the gas pedel...i use my ratchet shifter and shift into each gear

That was with the stock 305 ,TH200 transmission, and leaving it it Drive. Only 'upgrade' the engine had was dual exhaust with glasspacks lol, and the rear end setup. But I also had the element of surprise because of how my car looks (4 door, hubcaps, old 80s baby seat in the back lol).
