I also own a 1979 malibu with a 267 engine.
I live in the netherlands so no mountains here , the 267 is good enough here for cruisin since we are not allowed to drive faster then 100 km .
I bought the car last year after it stood still for at least five years.
The car runs fine now without big costs .
Malibus are just fine cars and not to complicated and expensive to do any service on it.
I presume you go to the big meet this summer?
