Muscle, donk or lowered. Whats your choice

I want muscle but with this look! I am not into the super huge wheels but 18's, 20's and 22's sure do look good! Staggered and fat lipped wheels are hot right now and I really hope these rides aren't compaired to donk's. Here's what I like.

Thank god the donks are playing themselves out and will soon be in the past! Cause it has gotten a little out of hand!

Bigjoe,

The black Elky kind of describes what I like, clean, stock looking, minimum chrome, sitting level and nice.

For me, I'm just a car nut so can take / appreciate a wide range of makes, models. Just weird that way I guess but that's why I never really joined a car club, many are too specific (and sometimes anal) for me. Can't tell you how many people cried & bitched when I snatched the #s matching 283 out of the Impala and replaced it with the hopped-up 350. Plus, I don't know what I'm going to build next or how I'm going to build it.

Though not really a Donk fan I can appreciate the time, cash, effort it took to build one the right way. Would I build one myself, most likely not, but at the same time won't sh*t on anyone who does.

i love me a G-body that can perform with the best of em, that can run 10, 11, 12 sec 1/4's... AND handle like a porsche.
as much as i like to go fast in a straight line i dont wanna have to slow down a bunch to take a turn... (this coming from an oval track guy 😀 )

as far as looks go i like a muscle feel, or a pro touring feel... i like an inch or two of drop but not to where its touching the ground. and i prefer no chrome or as little as possible...

i just cant stand donks but thats just me, i HATE them... but to each his own

i love this look right here... and yes its the car from Fast and Furious

For me, it’s really hard to choose just one but I’d say my overall pick is for the sleeper; stock look but with “goodies” hidden underneath, with only those in the know realizing what the vehicle really is. Not sure if the yuppie term “restification” fits. I like them clean, understated, not a lot of added on chrome this, billet that, mismatched parts , like those stick-on portholes and spinner hub-caps… But I have come across a couple of large-wheeled g-body Regals and Cutlasses that I like, like deezy’s and it looks like Qdub’s is coming along. And like them I don’t really go for calling a car a Donk (or Box or Bubble for that matter) simply because it has 20” or larger wheels on it. Hell, I remember when folks were jacking these cars up when 15” wheels were an upgrade / stock, looked like sheeot!!! :puke:

For me a slightly lowered g-body looks good, not so much a low-rider (my favs are the 61-64 Impalas so I’m way biased) but at the same time kind of like a Regal or Cutlass with 100 spoke Ds (Daytons). As long as the pieces “flow” together & not look like they’re just thrown on I’m ok with it. Things I really don’t like, and no offense 454, are vehicles with overly done bodywork, flares, wings / spoilers, wheels that stick way out from the fenders. I think my main reason for this, and it actually help get me return from the dark side of the force, is I spent a time working on / running pocket-rockets and kats / kittens would do this stuff WRONG. Parts wouldn’t fit, most were hack-jobs at best, they never painted these parts, and most kept the stock wheels because they didn’t save money to complete the mods they way they should. So the cars ended up looking like Aunt Esther instead of “Fast & Furious” good-looking (and even then most are gaudy as hell). Was never really a Pro-Street fan mainly because I remember a lot of those cars “looked” the part but couldn’t back it up. Plus they were a b*tch to drive on the street, grumpy, couldn’t handle. Pro-Touring is ok but does darn near every car HAVE to either be totally blacked out, or run the same blacked-out wheels?

But in the end build it the way you like and take the compliments for what they are and brush off the insults.

thanks Jae! although my ride does sit on the larger rims i still plain to keep it clean & classy not over the top. Overall my build will be very similar to Bumpin1ohmSS aka el co Warren ftw 8)

i like muscle.like my bbc with 13-1 compression and alum heads with a good solid roller cam.

I am a muscle car fan. I love the sound and look. I like the staggered look with the back lifted up a little and big fat tires on there. I am not really into loweriders or donked. I can appreciate if done right, but if it is just a lifted El Camino with 22 inch rims :puke: . I will not like it.

Hmmmmmmm, this makes me wonder, how would an elcamino look carved and lifted a bit with a set up like a trophy truck (offroad race truck). That brings in another style right?

yea that throws in more options... cause the camino is part truck and i havent ever seen anyone use the truck aspect of it..

it would be sweet to see baja/trophy el caminos or lifted with some big all terrian tires

course i would wanna do that with another gbody like this guy

lol, Some guy round my area used to have a cutlass with a snow plow on it (K5 blazer frame I believe), it was also white, goofy lookin thing. An Elcamino could look decent if done right as a truck, maybe.

If some one was to lift it mayeb 5-6" and thrown off road tires on it and a rollbar with fog lights it wouldnt look too bad. Then it would have the truck feel for sure. Has any one seen any trucks around lately with a roll bar its almost like they all died off or someting around my area
