Re: My 79

I'm going to get a complex if you guys keep bashing on t-tops..

But I'm a fan of hard tops too.. thankfully mine do not leak or rattle.. I painted the sides to give the appearance of a hard top.

To the OP, the project is looking good, keep it up.

Like what you did with the T-top, camouflaged from a distance, in the summer you'll be laughing!

Started the blasting on the weekend, it's slow going, i'll be working in sections so as to quickly seal it up.
Plan is etching primer, metal and bodywork followed by epoxy and topcoats.

Thankfully I found lots of rust to practice my welding skills :blam:

I wish I had your weather! lol.

I just got the blaster, on sale for $150, pretty simple tool, only thing to pay attention to is the quality of the fittings and gun ect. The real trick is having a good enough compressor to work it. I started this project in a 12x20 tent, then built this shop, its actually a lot more ghetto than the pictures make it out to look, the fully assembled car barely fits in it length ways.

Round 4, rear wall and trunk perch finished. Ran out of etching primer, waiting on supplier to get it in, hopefully this week, it's good to seal up asap.

Round 5, Firewall blasted, still waiting on more etching primer, hopefully this weekend. It's nice weather though so not too worried about any rust forming over a few days.
