Another bright side is that the headers seemed to have burnt off all they're gonna burn off and have stopped throwing dry-eye-tear inducing smoke everywhere.
Time is something I'm running out of (for this week at least) and patience is something I'm starting to wear thin on, but once I take a step back for a day I think I'll be able to go at it with renewed conviction. For now though, I'm gonna go out and buy the stuff I need to git'er done. Won't necessarily put it all in right now, but I'll have the parts I need at least.its a start I never run a bottom rad hose with out a spring good luck you are getting closer these thing always take time and patience 2 things I am not good at have a good day Jeff from Winnipeg
Seems like a likely culprit. Could also be air/fuel mixture, but again that's a fuel issue.Dieseling is just sh*t gas.
Aftermarket radiators typically have larger inlets and outlets than our factory radiators so I usually get an early to mid 70's A-body radiator hoses for a car that has the same dimensional size engine as the one I am installing (BBC, SBC etc.) and cut them to length since they are usually longer.Problem is that it doesn't fit on the radiator side because the opening isn't big enough.
