And how about the Olds 350 diesel? There's a guy on this board has one. What a prize.

And while we're at it .... There are 5.0L small blocks, Chevy and Olds, that are clearly distinct from what you probably mean by "small block."

Just be glad they never put a 4 banger in a G-body. But wait -- maybe somebody has!

The Turbo Buick V6 was available in BOP and Chevy cars from 1978 until 1980 if I remember right. Starting in 1981 it was a Buick exclusive again. And a Chevy and olds 5.0 are still small blocks. So it still fits. If they want to denote further as to what it is, they can comment.

I know. It was just an easy way to define the engines based on Cubic inch, not weather they were actually small or big. I made it at like 4am man. lol

no problem with that, I'm just a big fan of Pontiac engines since they were so unlike the other engines in the GM family. My dad had a Pontiac 350 in his 70 Tempest and I had a Pontiac 400 in my 74 Grand Prix. Those engines had plenty of torque and would pull any stock SBC. It's a shame that basically all the engines were dropped and the SBC was the only engine left, not that the SBC is poor engine but it would be nice if we had some say in what we bought.....rant over....

The Turbo V6 can only be Buick. But for non-turbo there are three different V6s -- Buick, Chevy 229, and Chevy 4.3L. I know no one is proud of any of them, but that's why they resent each other! :D
Don't forget the forgoten 200 Chevy V6. By now if you have one you're using it as an anchor. My brother had a GP that had a 252/4.1 Buick V6 back in the mid '90's.
