I love the look, power and sound of a BBC and how it just fills up an engine bay and my current 565 Big Block Chevy is a 10.9 comp. pump gas engine I built almost 7 years ago and I will be replacing it with a new 13.6 comp. version with bigger AFR heads and an even bigger solid roller cam and I plan to eventually run it on E85.

I'm sure you've heard this before but that engine is gorgeous!

I actually have a "small block" Pontiac. The 301. ALL the other Pontiac V-8's will interchange freely with the exception of the big and small journal crankshafts. But everything else will swap around. The 301 and 265 stand alone. Cams will fit, as will timing covers, distributors, oil pumps, oil pans, and exhaust manifolds, but even though the heads will physically bolt up- the single plane intake is unique. Most Pontiac guys ignore the 301, but as in all things, fit the punishment to the crime. It is a great little everyday motor that starts, runs, and gets good gas mileage. Since I put 3:23 gears out back it thinks it is a 350!

That is correct it is out of I think a 1997 supra I am rebuilding it currently it should be pushing around 500 horse at low boost. It was for my frs but wanted to do something different for a gbody

Complete sacrilege! 😱 Now I don't feel so bad about having swapped in a GM corporate LS engine. That Toyota engine is no joke though. Good luck with your project.

Meh 2jz is horribly overrated.....especially in a vehicle that has any weight. I've stomped them in stoplight races with my stock cammed supercharged 3800 dd
