The jack the car up and the starter will be under neath near the exhaust pipe. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY before removing the starter or you will see the spark show of your life while getting it out. Please make sure you block the wheels and use jackstands and not just a jack to hold the car up while working underneath. I would hate to here that you got your head squashed by the car falling on you.

X2, the starter is not underneath the AC. It's under the car, pretty much between the engine and transmission. A starter works by spinning the flywheel (flexplate). You will need to either get the car up on jackstands or ramps. Do not forget to disconnect the battery, otherwise you will be in spark city. Aslo, if you can get the inspection cover out it will probably be easier to get the starter out once you unbolt it.

Alrighty final question, how can I get to the starter mine is under the a/c.
I am having problems with taking this out, I am fearful I will have to take out the a/c and then I can get it.
any easier simpler ways to go about on this?

You have to do this from underneath the car. I don't know if you got just the solenoid or the starter and solenoid together, but I would replace the whole thing at once and not worry about it anymore.

I think it was the solenoid But I am just going to replace it all just to make sure and get this all over with.
Thanks for the comment.

Oh I saw it under the a/c I mean it was way underneath it but overall underneath it in a sense.
But I got it all disconnected e-brake on just have to get it on the stands.
Thanks for the comment I would want to see that light show anytime soon.

And be aware that it is a HEAVY b*st*rd if it falls down on you. Getting the wires disconnected/connected while trying to hold it steady is a bear. This is where a friend comes in handy.

Remember where the wires go. It isnt really that hard to see where they go but just makes it easier to remember before you take them off. And ya I second the heavy *ss b*tch falling on you, be careful. It has happened to me haha.

They are both right....You might want to throw masking tape around the wires with markings/writings where they go with respect to the fusible links and what not....And yeah watch what your doing when taking the bolts out..Nothing worse then a starter/broken teeth sandwich!!

Yeah I got the new one and was not expecting it to be that heavy haha.
But I actually got the ratchet stuck in between the exhaust pipe and the starter now I cannot get it out I have tried everything and it isn't coming out no matter what I do or how hard I try.
So I gave up for the night, now I am stuck!

see for some reason, how far I got.
I noticed there are 3 places for wires on the new one but when I look up at the one installed now there is only 1 of those taken by a 3 red wires.
I knew there was 3 spots but only 1 taken up.
I needed to know if that was right.

As I stated up before, there are 3 places for wires I see that but only 1 place is take and its taken by 3 thick red wires?
I am stuck right now anyways because the ratchet is wedged in between the exhaust and the starter.
So now I am helpless and stuck.
