Your best bet is to remove the starter and have it tested. That will solve the "starter" situation. You are looking at about $80 for a remanufactured Lifetime Warranty starter for it.

Yeah i got mine for 44$ but it only had a 1 year warranty.

I wish i was from there because that's the route I would have taken and not even given two thoughts on ever doing this myself.

Quick question.
How hard is it to loosen the y-pipe I see there are two screws on each end. Could I just loosen them and take the ratchet out and tighten it back up, or will it be extremely hard to put it back up there?

I know I actually went there for a show and it took us a while I just mapped it and its a 3 hour 15 minute drive.
I wouldn't want to waste your time anyways.
