BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

On the other hand I picked up my intake from the powder coating guy and got it installed tonight. One step forward, two steps back...

Man, that sucks that shorty headers don't fit. What brand are they? I could see long tubes having issues, but not shorties.

I bought them from Speedway Motors. Coated, thick flanges, nice units except the minor issue of them not fitting. Grrr

Well thanks to the blue tip wrench they now fit... Just need to fab some metal to fill in the hole and reinforce it since it's right next to the motor mount. Luckily I can cut and bend it at work.

LOL, I thought you were going to ding the pipe, not cut the frame!

I would've had to flatten it to make it fit! LOL seriously though, that hole is about 4" towards the front of the car, 1.5" deep, and 5" long from the a arm to the middle. These headers don't even come close to fitting our frames... I'll make them work though because I'm stubborn and cheap! Hahaha

That's one way of resolving the issue. Fwiw, the Hedman #68600 mid length headers fit our cars really well.

According to Speedway Motors so do these.. I'm doing my best not to call and rip someone a new one... I left a bad review so hopefully another g body enthusiast doesn't get screwed.

I don't blame you for leaving a bad review. I had the Hedman's on my sbc in my Cutlass, but sold them as I'm going LS. They fit with no issues.
