I vote pull the engine and put an Olds 455 in it. JMO. hahaThey don't match the block and heads. Pull the engine and reshoot. 😛

Looks great, D.
I like the blue and gold touch on the finned valve covers.
I assume you're using adapters for the center bolt heads to the early gen. perimeter bolt valve covers. Very tastefully done. Need I say more?
Could you post a link to the source of the valve covers? I'm considering a set of them. I wanted the early Chevy LT-1 style covers, but they're hard to find, or they want your first born for them...

You know those valve covers are going to make you think about adding other parts to match them beside the breather.
Yes but I've seen it done years ago on a bracket car at raceway Park the guy machined the bolt holes in the intake to be straight up and it had what I can only describe as wedge-shaped square washers to make the heads of the bolts seat flat. I'm no machinist or mechanic so I've no idea how correct or incorrect it is to do or if the wedges are available aftermarket but it's definitely been done.New style Vortec heads Eric. That’s not possible to the best of my knowledge because the Vortec’s use a different intake manifold and manifold bolt configuration. They go in vertical as opposed to angled like the older Gen I versions.
