Yes it is Jeff. VHT’s Chassis and Roll Bar paint in satin black. I just bought 2 new cans today. It’s pricey at almost $17 a can, but I feel it’s worth it.

It's epoxy. No primer required. It's a hard finish.

Yep. Plus because it’s an epoxy, there’s no etch or other primers required first. It’s DTM. (Direct to Metal)

Dang, gonna hafta give this stuff a shot. Been hearing about it but wasn't sure what the fuss was about. Plus the paint on the cage in my Camaro seems to really hold up and I was wondering why.

So as I said, next I’m gonna put it all back together and send it.

make sure you have the camera rolling when you do the full send... if the noise is gone, then no sweat. if the noise is still there, then a catastrophic failure may just make you go viral! 😉

at least you haven't found any severe issues, hopefully the noise will be gone upon re-assembly.

Well guys, she’s back together.
After a casual couple of nights and a bit of a thrash today, I got the last of it put back together and buttoned up.

All that’s left is to get it started and re-time it (we had the distributor out), burp the radiator and inspect for leaks. Unfortunately I’m plumb out of time for today. Got a must-attend family dinner.

It’s frustrating as hell to being this close to firing it up again and seeing what happens with the mystery sound, but it is what it is. I’m not gonna rush it at the last minute, that’s how accidents happen.

So wish me luck when I hit the key tomorrow and I’ll report back on the outcome!
