I guess I'm screwed. I have close to 28K invested in my El Camino, I probably never see anything close to that in return.
I've been watching this one for what seems like a year. If it was cheaper, I'd probably buy it. https://joplin.craigslist.org/cto/d/1979-hurst-olds/6493166449.html
Here is a euro Cutlass in Van Buren Arkansas. It is the only euro on my localish craigslist. https://fortsmith.craigslist.org/cto/d/88-cutlass-supreme/6471754313.html
That had me scratching my head as well. X ray vision i supposeThis would be enough to scare me away "While I was replacing the push rods I discovered the crank and pistons were new as well". Not sure where to start....
Which begs a question, was the Cutlass produced in more prolific numbers? Even Regals seem to be more available than a Malibu.

I think the cutlass was the most produced gbody??
The A/G-body Cutlass and Regal were both produced until '88.
Malibus coupes did not sell well in the lower midwest, based on my historical observation here. I do recall seeing them pretty regularly when I was in Iowa, but they were still fairly new then. Went from Iowa to Dallas, hardly ever saw one and took me 3 years to find a decent one without a vinyl top.
For the early H/Os, there is a 79 a little ways from me, but I'm a little skeptical of anything the guy has to say based on the ad and photos
"Car was kept inside until late 2000s - clear coat is pealing but interior is still in great shape"
