Been back at it a little today...got wipers off. Thanks to some advice from a couple guys on here. My 66 wiper arms came off easier than these!!! Trying to just do a lil poking with screwdriver netted me more cracks in windshield. Ughh. Someone has has windshield out when they tried to bondo leading edge of roof and boy did they lay the sealer/tape in there when they reset windshield. Thick!!!

Sure could have used one!!! Lol. Passenger side clip was half broken off so it popped right off. Well the outer shell came off. Driver side clip I broke off and wrestled with it. Called 78chevelle and jun_bug125 for advice, thanks guys, and while I was running my mouth on ph my son pulled it right off. Was proud. Strangest looking clips though. I personally haven't ever seen any like that.

Son and me back at it a little today. Finally got windshield out. Lots of cutting and cracks, but amazingly came out in one piece. Peeled and scraped alot of the sealer off of channels. Rusty at top. Might have got to it just in time. A pillars fairly solid and I expected the bottom near cowl to be rotten, but it wasnt. Looks decent. Cut off a little bit of the front of roof skin to clean out and get a better look. Rusty but still solid. Dash pad kinda sad shape.

David,
You may as well remove the dash, you know it will have to come out sooner than later. Having the windshield out gives you a little more maneuverable room. Was the one in the Monte Carlo any better?
The one out of my car was in a lot better shape than that...too bad I tossed it in the dumpster, I would have sent it to you. You could have covered it with a dashcap.

Mr Jack...do you think I could use some of that filler made for dashes, smooth it, and use dash cap? Or replace whole dash? This one kinda flakes off in my hand. I had one lined up with only 2 small cracks but the fella couldn't or wouldn't box it up. We had found a way to ship for around $40 usps. He texted me 2 weeks ago and said he was going to get it shipped. I said ok and thanks. Haven't heard anything since. Matter of fact I had a post on here about shipping dash. They are tough to make a box for I know but it can be done. The monte one was cracked up pretty good. Not as bad.

David,
Your dash is pretty sad, sorry to say. You're better off finding one that is more intact...a few cracks here and there are okay. But your dash the way it is, is not a good foundation for a dashcap.

Shipping a dash is a hassle, but if packed well, shouldn't be a problem. I wish I could help you.

That's what I thought. That's why I was looking for one..just texted the guy who had that one. He said he hadn't forgot me he has just been busy. What do you think of all the foam filler that was in roof? A mess!!
