Jared, do you remember if your center caps had the bowtie embossed in them? I have a set I picked up at an auction last year, and hope to find those decals with the buick symbol... was wondering, if yours did have them, is the decal thick enough to not show the lines?

Thanks,
Darin
Also check out these centercap decals....
Look at this on eBay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5335822911&icep_item=182450081193

Do a search on eBay, 'Buick centercap decals'. There are several styles to choose from.

I do already have the centercaps, but they have the bowtie logo embossed in them, and I was wondering if the buick decals would be thick enough to not sink into the lines.

The decals I sent you look pretty thick. The decals I used are definately not thick enough.

You can try sanding off the Bowtie logo starting with coarse paper and then working to fine, and finally polishing with some paste. Just a thought...

Well, I spent Thanksgiving with the GP and we had a pretty good day. First, here's a look where I left off at the beginning of summer....

I was in the process of replacing the heater and evaporator cores and cleaning all the goo off of the HVAC case from the diesel firewall sound insulation. Here's a look at some of the remaining goo....

For all you guys with cars that were originally gasoline powered, be grateful. This stuff has been no fun to deal with.

While I was under there, I looked in the 'trap door' of the HVAC case to find it totally blocked. I was shocked. Before....

Here's a look at the HVAC case after more goo removal.....

I ended the day with the new evaporator and heater cores mocked up with the top to the HVAC case sitting on there. I need some 1/4"x2" foam tape to make the aftermarket heater core fit right, and I needed some weatherstrip glue to glue the seals to the evaporator core before I'm ready to button it up. I should have that done tomorrow and move to more cleaning up the firewall.

Hopefully I'll have another good update tomorrow night.

Looks great Jared!
Glad to see you back at it buddy. Tuned in as always!

I second what Donovan said.... nice to see you back at it! after seeing your attention to detail on the camaro and galaxie, I know that this will come out beautifully!

Thanks Donovan. I went through some doldrums on the project over the summer. If I don't put it back together and start enjoying it, I need to get rid of it. Of course I would have liked to have gotten more done. I don't know how guys like Hafrod get so much done in a day.

Thanks Darin. This car will never be on the level of the Camaro or the Galaxie as I'm not going to blow it completely apart and start over. Mine will be more of a rolling restoration/repair. It should be a nice cruiser if I ever get it put back together.

It's looking great but if you are open to suggestion I think you might want to upgrade your driveshaft...🙂
