Suck N Blow Monte

Realistically it is not a better design, but the same design. The Sniper includes the TB(hardware) . The terminator assumes you are installing it in an LS based vehicle (no hardware). But both are a plug n play giddyup. I believe the Terminator X had more I/O’s. , but not many lol.
Replaceable injectors and a separate computer you could use on some thing else. Sounds like an advantage to me, but not worth the cost.

I had time to kill this morning before an appointment. So I drove my car to Ames to get my hearing aid cleaned. I was about out of fuel before I left so I was forced to put 91 octane in the tank. I took it easy to Ames. After the getting my aid cleaned I was driving around Ames trying to find 93 octane and then my power steering quit. I pulled into a parking lot. It throwed the belt off. I checked my pulleys. Every thing seemed fine. I put the belt back on with a tire iron. Once I fired it up again it jumped the crank pulley. That's when I found the problem. The crank bolt came out and the harmonic balancer and it was sliding out.

I pushed it back in and made it the 35 miles home. I took the intercooler and crank pulley apart. There is a plate that covers the pulley that drives a little fan to cool the intercooler. The crank bolt was laying in there. I put it all back together before my appointment showed up. The appointment took longer than it should have and my boss said to not to bother coming in today. Ok by me it was sunny, calm and 60°. So I loaded the car up and drove to my mom's. I put the Monte in storage for the winter and brought the Nova home.

I have let this car sit way too long. It is time to show it some love. I have big plans for it. It was a way better day playing with cars than working.

Whatcha gonna do to the Nova? Tub it? Procharger? 6 kits of nossssssssssssss? All that and a bag o' chips?
You will see in due time. It already has NOS. Even though I have never sprayed it. It is around a 700 hrp engine with out it. The main problem is the 456 gears and a spool. I am also finally going to put the exhaust on it. It has been open big tube headers for the last 15 years. The list is long as to what it needs to be a reliable street car, but that is the start.

We need a thread on the Nova project in the non-G section! Cool car!

Reminds me of this scene:

Looking forward to this!

Brought the old girl home Sunday from winter storage.

It ran pretty good. Having a issue with the Holley controller going wacky and not working. I think it has to do with my electric fan wires going to the same spot as the main electric feed to the computer. I need to play with the wiring some more to be sure. It is also close to being out of gas so I decided now is the time to write a tune for E85. Going to go that route. I need to get an oversized puck put in my down pipe and replace the o2 sensor for my wideband gauge. Then just drive and enjoy it! Here is a picture of a few of my toys in one spot.

I have some more parts for the Nova coming and plan on doing some work on it this weekend, so there will be an update on that soon I hope.

Great looking Monte!

Last weekend I changed my tune and the car is running on E85 now. Some how I managed to wipe the settings and tune completely out of the ECM. I had to set it all back up and rewrite the hole thing. I finally had a little time today to take it for a spin. I drove it to the gas station and took the long way back home. About 20 miles. It runs awesome now. Builds more boost and faster now for some reason. Half throttle acceleration it builds 14 psi of boost between second gear and third. Twice it went a little sideways shifting into third. Full throttle it bogs a little and then goes. It is a little too rich at full throttle. I need to tweak it some more and then I can back some timing off and add boost. I did build about 20 psi of boost a couple times with a little detonation on the knock gauge. The problem is it gets to 80 mph really fast on a 55 mph highway. Overall I am very happy with it so far. I also figured out my wacky controller problem. It is the controller it's self. Something wrong with the wires going into it. Sorry no pictures this time.
