You have a good Olds motor, just figured it was going place of the swirl port 307. I saw this thread sorry assuming. Whatever man, you have a good Olds 350 there, why use it. You are being that way, just staring a fact, sorry you don't like it. Enjoy your Chevmobile.

When I was looking for a replacement for the 307, no olds engines were available unless I wanted to spend the $10k finding and building one capable of my goals. I've had this sbc sitting for years and the person who bought it from me never picked it up. Just like on another forum when I had an 84 delta 88 you ranted and raved when I was considering dropping the sbc in because the ccc distributor and carb were giving me issues. In a 4 door delta 88 mind you.

"Keep your GM all GM" is what my factory stickers say. You'd think that even a purist would appreciate someone keeping these relatively low value cars driveable and on the road regardless of what GM drivetrain was in them. This is a mass produced g body, not a rare 60 something cutlass convertible. It's not even an 80s 442. I sold the drivetrain out of the 74 delta that the rocket was in and doubled my money so now I can fund some more of my build in my cutlass. I wasn't going back and redoing my sh*t that I have already spent countless hours and thousands of dollars on just to make some people happy, and have an engine that I'd be worried about running at the track and driving hours away to car shows; since the availability of parts and finding a machinist locally who is experienced with them is extremely high dollar, or non existant.

Aside from it being a Chevy engine I have retained all functioning rally gauges, full interior, and I'm not hacking the body or frame up for the sake of looks or performance.

I appreciate input and constructive criticism but I don't need somebody downplaying or discrediting my efforts and money spent because it doesn't fit their ideology. I see many builds on here that don't fancy my opinion, but I'll be damned if I'm going to attempt to invoke a sentiment of unworthiness due to that.

Have fun.

Cut holes in dash mat finally so the tweeters could pierce my eardrums better. I also think they look kinda neat like that. Twisted my alt belt to sh*t even though it was on its way out. Tried to take the opportunity to swap water pump pulley, yet the holes didn't line up. Never knew there were different size patterns for sbc?! The single groove black one donated from my 73 impala is lighter anyway, so it will remain.
