Uuuuuugh! Called Napa, They don't carry that part anymore and haven't found it YET at their competitors websites.... :wtf:

Welp, may be ganking the axle shaft after all........ Damnit! The drama continues......

Wow, ya it looks like they are going obsolete. There are some still available though. I can get them in at the store I work at, but it would take a few days.
I called another store here in Toledo and that guy found 3 in Michigan.... Hope they still have one on Friday when I get paid so I can go order one!

Or if you could reserve one till Friday I could have my store here in Toledo contact your store. Is there a Napa in Antwerp or do you work up in Defiance? Thanks.... Mike

I work at the Ft. Wayne DC. I'd have to order them from Michigan or Carrolton, OH. If I did, you'd have to come pick them up at my store. I'd just go through your local store, they will get them as quickly as I can. I don't see there being a rush on them, but there is six more in Carrolton worse case scenario.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it but I've always liked to drill out those bolts that always snap. I usually drill them just a hair larger and nut bolt and lock washer them, it works fine if they ever have to come off again you don't have this problem again.

we'll see you when you want to change the axle seals....no shortcut for those...
I will do those when you role into to Toledo and show me how easy it it is.... Then you can smack me in the back of the head for taking the easy way out this time......

New backing plate kit should be in by Saturday, plus once I get that side put back together I'm gonna go ahead and replace the wheel cylinder/shoes and springs on the other side as well... Just did the transmission filter/fluid change while she is up on blocks.... Thanks again to all for the advice! Is it April yet? :wtf:

if you get the non power brake wheel cylinders for a 85 S10 they have a larger piston which gives you better rear braking.. here's the part # for the Bendix wheel cylinders (#WC37644T). They fit identical to the G body cylinders

The backing plate kit I ordered comes with a new wheel cylinder, assuming stock. That's ok with my 3.8NA in my Buick we are going nowhere fast..... Unfortunately no need for big/better brakes.....

What I need to order is 2 of these wheel cylinder clips I saw in an older thread. >>>>> http://www.amazon.com/Raybestos-GMB2585 ... B000C71FZU

I should not have mentioned axle seals...was just doing a look see at the jeep so I don't get any surprises, had it up on the lift with the wheels off and looking at the back brakes and discovered I have an axle seal leaking..
