Vortec intake gaskets

3rd set of 1255's here. Patriot Steel heads, GMPP alum Intake, ARP bolts
First set sealed fine, then I wiped a lobe a few years later causing me to take the intake off.
Second set leaked antifreeze on the PS fouling the plugs causing hard start when parked for a more than a few days
Third set seems to be sealing fine. No longer have the hard starts or disappearing coolant.
Torqued mine to 20 ft\lbs to split the difference between instructed and the internet LOL
On install I used a dab of RTV to hold them in place north and south until I dropped the intake in place.
What bolts did you use?

Well, I put the intake on this evening. I used the GM gasket and the ARP bolts. A few notes:

The GM gasket does not have a metal 'backbone'. Instead it is plastic. The major difference between it and the first gasket I listed in my first post is the metal rings at each bolt hole to prevent over-torquing the gasket. The gasket doesn't match up to the ports very well.

I'm not blown away by the GM gasket but went ahead and used it since it is the latest design and I couldn't find anywhere where folks suffered a failure with these gaskets.

I decided against the Fel-Pro Performance gaskets because I just wasn't comfortable with pulling down those 5/16" bolts to 30 ft. lbs.

Since the GM gaskets have those rings to prevent over-torquing the gasket, I torqued the bolts to 15 ft. lbs. I used thread sealant on all 8 bolts, but only the inside 4 weren't blind holes.

For what it's worth, that's what I did. I hope this information will help someone else.

I only have one question, where is your roller cam....🙁
She's flat tappet. But it is at least a mild performance grind (Lunatti). I bought the motor that way from Pace. I'd rather have a roller setup but this will be fine. The springs aren't super stiff, it's not high lift and I've been successfully breaking in flat tappet cams for 25 years. I'm not worried about it.
