Since my boss kind of avoided me today regarding the raise question I never ordered the parts I need to finish the radio install (or my wife's birthday present). So instead I used whatever existing parts I had to start work on the switch panel. I cut out a piece of clear lexan, drilled the holes for the switches, and test mounted everything. That's as far as I got for now. Tomorrow, if all goes well, I'll order the speakers, some plastic wrap to make a 442 emblem on the panel, and my wife's birthday present (not in that order of course). Then I'll paint the lexan, wire it up, and hopefully have the radio in by the end of the weekend. Fingers crossed! Now I'm off to sell my kids on Ebay to fund the rest of this project!

Looking good!

That's nice.. Can you post a quick pic of the A/C controls that you mounted in the glove box..

I will when it's done - I have not mounted them yet. I need to make brackets to mount them to the inside of the glove box. For now they are just tucked up along the fire wall so I can finish the radio.

Not a whole lot. Just undercoating the rest of the inner doors on the wagon.

I broke down and ordered my wife's birthday present and some speakers and subwoofers on Amazon the other night. Should be here today. I just can't stand not finishing a project I started! Also started looking at wood and fabrics to do up the trunk. It's starting to come together. And the boss - still no answer. :wtf:

Well my package of speakers arrived today, courtesy of Amazon prime. I was on a mission and installed the from speakers, Lanzar VX320's. For the insanely low price I paid for them, they sound amazingly good. They even have a little bass to them (a little, really only a little). It took less than an hour to install, in part because the stock pair of front speakers and wiring were missing altogether, so that made it easy. Installed, ran new wire, and test fired them with the new head unit. Over the weekend I'll install the matching pair of rear speakers and the Pioneer Subwoofer. I am going to build a box for them and totally remove the existing stock rear speakers (which surprisingly are still there).

started putting the back end of the cutlass back together (I had picked up another bumper, cover taillights, 1 backup lens assy, trunk lid, and tag surround), and decided to at least try to put a little shine on the bumper... I had pretty much thought that I'd either have to replace it again in the future, or have it rechromed at some point, but thought I'd try... gotta say, glad I did! gotta love mother's polish!

Scrubbing and powerwashing grease and grime, then it's off to get sandblasted.

installed l-rods. from the 84 hurst, i thought while the 84 is getting torn down for mild restore, i could enjoy these until i get all the parts together for the t56. had to space the shifter up about 1-1.5inches for the shifter rods clear the top plate for the much deeper grand prix console.
