My buddy charlie friend has a mid engine corvair. His is how it is supposed to be done. This guy is "doing it wrong". Charlie would have been dead years ago if he employed this "trailer park boys" build standard.

I guess you can drive around in full nomex, but the potential for scalding is still off the charts. I personally think corvairs get a bad rap and that ralph nader is a complete idiot, but this corvair is TRULY unsafe at any speed.

I spent 7 months in the hospital, flat lined 4 times, lost half of my hearing, and have some wicked scars from playing with fire. So you don't have to tell me what that is like. Got my passenger taillight wet sanded from 600 up to 2000 grit after work. I have some 3k and 5k waiting for pickup tomorrow to finish them both off. Then i have like 10 more lenses to do geez!!!

Yep Eric, those cracks are within the layers of the plastic unfortunately. The only way to get to them is throw em in the garbage and get new ones lol!

Remapped the 1=>2 and 2=>1 shifts to hold first gear longer to improve low speed driving.

Got off work, waxed the 442, went for a cruise. Got so many compliments out around town!

I had a couple hours to kill at work today so I broke the car out into 9 sections and got rid of all the "winter" black streaks between phone calls and emails. Followed that up with a full $6.00 coin op wash and then polished the turd with a hand-wax.
I feel like karate kid - wax on / wax off 🙂

I had a little bit of daylight left so i hammered down on painting my taillight surrounds satin black. The thing that sucks is i don't have a garage, so i usually paint outside.
The pieces were looking great, until the one bug decides to get nosey and glue itself to my fresh paint 😡!!!!!

Once it cures, i will scuff the bug away and respray in hopes i can keep the bugs at bay!
