Thanks, Clutch! That's so cool coming from a professional!
I don't have a welder, and didn't want to pull the tank. What's your opinion of the 3M body panel adhesive? It was really easy to use (maybe too easy?).
It's all in the prep with that stuff general rules are grind joining surfaces with at least 40 I use 24 cover all bare metal with glue so it can't rot and lift the glue and don't over tighten the clamps the glue contains glass Beed to keep proper bonding distance between panels .it is easy

Taking a quick break....figured i would type away. Currently sanding the rear marker lights....knocked the lettering off and gonna go through the steps before polish. I must be losing it, alot of prep for subtle mods most won't ever notice!!!

It's those little things that are going to make it stand out keep going

Did the annual 4th of July burnout, but no one saw it this year. Which is a shame because I really channeled my inner-hillbilly on this one.
Every 4th one or all of my cars has been broken. :I

Scott,
It's more about subtlety and self satisfaction . You're aware of what you accomplished and like the way it looks, whether anyone notices it or not. If people do notice it, it makes you feel good. I enjoy discovering the subtle touches on peoples cars.

Thanks Jack! That's always been my thought process with this resto....make a ton of minor tweaks, changes, etc. that alter the parts just enough that most people walk right by. There are always the detail oriented folks that catch the subtle mods, and appreciate the time & effort spent to make stuff look like factory...but it's not!

Good ole Chip Foose always talks about that....Make it look like it came from the factory that way.

Except when it came to wheels - those should be as hideous as possible.

The best way to look at what a car is and could become, is to look at it like what it was intended to be. Meaning what did the designer pen BEFORE manufacturing, corporate, safety, and the bean counters got involved. There is an underlying truth in all cars that needs to be unlocked.
