Took the Monte for a test cruise around the neighborhood, the first thing I noticed was how the corvette calipers really improved braking feel! It feels like it can stop on a dime! Huge difference!
Suspension feels great goes over the drainage ditches really smooth. I'll need to get it aligned but the wheel is nice and straight haha
The UMI lowering springs really lowered it, along with the 1/2 taller lower ball joint. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
It feels good to do something I've never done before.
Need to check all bolts I touched and make sure everything is still tight.
Overall pretty happy haha

Nice, how does she ride/handle with the modern anti-roll setup? Got a similar bar going on my 442 soon.

Pros/Cons?

Thanks!

It handles great haven't taken it out on any big roads but, the ride is nice though the springs don't feel too stiff. I forgot to tighten the sway bar links so I'm sure that'll make it feel better as far as steering effort. Oh heck yeah! I feel 100 times safer knowing how quick this thing stops just have to watch out for people behind me..

I got off my lazy butt and put another carb I have together so I can take the carb I'm running now to change the divorce choke baseplate so I can set up an electric choke. The carb I put together is running great except when just cruising the carb is running lean. So I adjusting the APT. You can buy the kit with the tool to replace the plug but I'm cheap. All I do is drill a 3/32" hole in the lug about 3/8" deep and thread in a small screw. Then I removed the horn and popped out the plug. I put the horn back on without the plug. For the adjustment tool I use a 3/16" steel brake line, squeeze one end to make it into a D shape and bend the top 2" 90° so I can judge how far I am turning the APT. Then after the adjustment I put the plug back in and test the car. If it needs more adjustment I thread the screw into the plug and pull the plug out....:)

Well, I actually had my rear end in the truck ready to go to town like 2 months ago it seems though it was only a month [only], but had to actually unload it to do more pressing things and still haven't gotten back to it. Bear in mind, going to town is an hour one way. Good news is on the interior gut, dynamat everything, new headliner, new [speaker] lower door panels, new sound system, battery relocate, custom power shelf, I got back to everything is organized . . . got things prioritized, even written down if you can believe that, and the shop cleaned and straightened up again.

And, the rear end is back in the truck again . . . hey I have to go to town in the next 3 days to renew my license or I'll be like considered an illegal alien here in Kansas and there will like be a shoot on sight warrant out for my arrest [or something like that??] so no choice but to drive clear in to Wichita now . . . and this week or else!!!

Might as well take the rear end with me . . .

Plus, it's my birthday this week. Survived another year . . . celebrate by getting that freakin rear end done-done!
Well guess I better wait until my actual birthday to get all cocky about surviving another year, huh?!
