What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Took the MC of for a cruise. Rides nice and stiff. Still can't get over how quickly it stops!! Took some pictures finally.
I'll add that I had to use a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the c5 calipers. They barely fit haha

I had to take the carb apart that I changed the base plate yesterday. Being cheap and lazy I reused the gasket and it caused a small vacuum leak. Plus, thanks to my a/f gauge, I was able to see the carb was acting strange at part throttle. I also wanted to change out the jets so I took the horn off and noticed the APT was siting real high, in fact it was out of it's threads so I am surprised how well it seem to run. I screwed the APT in and turned it out 3.5 turns and I'll see how that works. The jets were 73 with 43 rods so I changed the jets to 71. I want i to run a bit leaner. I had the 71 jets in the carb I built the other day so I took that one apart to remove the 71 jets and put the 73 jets in and changed the 43 rods to 49 rods and put that carb back together. Then I removed the base plate on the other carb that was leaking and changed that gasket so both carbs are ready to go.....now I'm enjoying a beer...tomorrow I'll remove my back up carb and try out these two....🙂
 
After 2 years of off and on searching, I finally found that motherfuggin throttle cable/kickdown bracket!!! Website called Partingout.com. Off a '78 LeSabre if I recall, with a 350 BUICK, 4 barrel, and TH350. Alas, it's still not without it's problems. It bolts on with two bolts as opposed to the single bolt style both of my intakes and the TA intake utilize. But, it's nothing I can't handle. There's plenty of space on the mounting pad of the bracket. Drill a hole here, slot one there, and it'll mount up like factory. Clean it up, nice coat of satin black, and it'll be perfect.

I drove mine to work today. After work I washed it and took the curve senic way home. After a frustrating week it was nice to blow off some steam by talking some corners a little too fast! Wish I had a little more punch for the strait aways though.

Tried every bracket under the sun. GM, Ford, Factory, aftermarket, etc. And I've tried that one. The one I have is LITERALLY the only bracket that works in my case. It's just one of those weird things. It HAD to be off of a 76-80 car with a 4 barrel, and a TH350. The 75 and back intakes use a different bracket, the two barrel bracket is different (too far back, so I'd have to get a new throttle and a different length kickdown cable), and only cars with a Th350 and cable activated kickdown used the cable. Most of these brackets I assume were either left attached to the cables in the car, bent and removed, thrown away, or scrapped with the cars. These are hard to find, and those that have them won't give em up. The Buick intake is so flat, that brackets like this:

physically won't fit on the intake, hell, I have to use a spacer just to use a quadrajet, as the throttle arm hits the intake! It's a very odd and specific situation that I was in. Keyword was. And for those interested, this is the 68-74/5 style bracket:

And yes, that carb is not the carb I'm gonna be using. The one I'm using is a later style qjet (that one was off a '70 455, hence no nub for the kickdown cable) that has the longer arm for the kickdown cable nub.

Installed my et streets on 15 x10 wheels and fired her up first time.

I actually went with after factory aluminum intake as my 400 or 455 intake had same problem as you described above.

It sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
 
Stopped by the machine shop earlier and picked up the heads for my LS. They cleaned them, did a valve job, milled the deck about 7 thousandths to get them dead straight, and installed the BTR springs. The tech praised the BTR springs, he said he has yet to use shims to install to spec on all the sets he's setup!!!
