Been feeling like the car was off a bit, felt like it was flat. Had a coil go bad about 7 years ago and replaced it one I had lying around. Something told me to start there and yesterday my new coil came in from Rock Auto and “holy crap”! The car started instantly and honestly you could hear the difference. Took it for a test drive this morning to mail my bills(boooooo) at the Post Office and you thought I added 30 horsepower. I never realized how weak the other coil had gotten. Checking my box of parts I keep for emergencies I think the coil I had on was the original when I bought the car! Thought it was a newer one I picked up for a spare. Like I said, wow, what a difference. Next week I will put on a new cap, rotor, plugs.

I fixed a flat tire, my buddy asked me how I could tell it was low on air without any tire sensors...😀

Well, it was this past Sunday but I attended the Claremont NH Senior Center 6th annual car show.

front clip came off, 305 came out, inner front clip, frame and firewall got cleaned and painted, 454, heads and oil/timing/valve covers got painted. cam, timing gears and chain, timing cover, and oil pan all back on the motor. pushed the car near my basement door so the motor can move from the stand to the bay 🙂 headers, distributor, motor mounts, fuel pump with fittings and hose, feed line for my carb, gasket kit, and head bolts all got delivered. Tuesday my first day off again looking to get the motor in and built and maybe even running!

Cam bearings showed up. I thought these ones were teflon coated, but those are the ones that are 100 bucks. These bearings are badass though. Soon the block will get dropped off at the machine shop for a cleaning and to get them installed.

I changed he baseplate on another quadrajet I have. It was a newly rebuilt but had a divorce choke set up. I got the baseplate from one of my parts quadrajets and installed it after checking to make sure it was identical to the baseplate I was removing. Put it together and tried it out on the GP. It sits at 14.7 at idle but runs a little rich for my liking so it needs a little tweaking..tomorrow I'll try out the quadrajet I put together yesterday.....🙂
