What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

I hate it when a g-body is used as a dirt track racer. I was approached by a woman one day whose family did racing. She wanted to buy mine for that horrible purpose! 🙁

You shouldn't hate it , you should thank the team for saving the car. We ran G bodies on asphalt ovals and like most race teams we were on a very limited budget along with being cheap we bought our G bodies that were headed to the scrap yard. Then we stripped the cars and tried to sell all the parts and glass to reinvest in chicken wings and beer. I don't know who that woman was but she wasn't a seasoned race team member cause a car on the street is way too much money. All were are looking for is the frame from the axle hump forward and the body from the firewall back to the end of the quarter panels so it doesn't matter how bad the condition of the car is

I changed the plugs today and had 2 that I removed with the ceramic cracked. Now I know what was causing my distributor to act up. The E curve is a nice distributor but if there is a bad plug that will screw up the distributor and the timing. I had backed the timing off a bit to see how the distributor would react. With the timing retarded I adjusted the throttle to open the plates a little and that screws up the ported vacuum for my vacuum advance giving it almost manifold vacuum at idle. Now with good plugs I have everything adjusted and the ported vacuum is once again ported...🙂

Worked for 10 1/2 hours which I'll be doing for the rest of the week. My car should be up and running again by Halloween if all goes well.

working 10.5 hours a day on your G body and it's going to take that long to get it running?...

Found out the new (non-returnable gift) Summit oil pan doesn't seal in the front with the FelPro one piece gasket. 🙁
Thankfully I have an mid '60's pan that does.

Installed the throttle cable, had to cut it to be able to wot.

Almost done!!!

and I found this behind the hood insulation

Nah. Working at my new job with my dad. Since I have nothing else to spend money on, I consider working working on/for my g body. Logged another 10.5. Check should be pretty beefy next week. I started this Monday, so you know. One week delay.
