Well I had ordered the Hellwig frame kit for the Monte, after about a month and a half of no kit, the supplier refunded my money. About the same time, I lost an injector in my Cummins Dodge. Yay. So the Help the Monte fund became help the Cummins fund. But all was not lost, $21.53 at my local steel supplier got me a length of 1/8 x 4" flatstock, enough to box both rails. The passenger side is done, what a difference you can't just push down and flex the rail anymore.

I cleaned it up, fixed the map lights in the rear view mirror and went for a cruise. Here is a picture of what the windshield look like sitting flush with the body and push up as high it would do to lessen the gap top and sides.

But in all seriousness, it's punchy. Real punchy. Will be even moreso with the converter. You know how the weather's been. Waiting until next weekend when it *hopefully* stops f*ckin raining to do it.

Also, it barks the tires on the 1-2 shift. Makes me giggle.

I went from 2.41s to 3.42s (posi). I've never done this before or had the luxury of a before and after, so I anticipated that 2nd with the 3.42 would pull like 1st with the 2.41, and so on. It does.

Suprisingly, they dont really scrape on anything. I do my best to avoid and stupidly large speed bumps and entrances/exits. They will scrape if I go over a big enough bump though. Normal driving, might happen 2-3 times a week. Still terrible looking though. One project at a time.
