Nah, I get it. There's something oddly attractive about a super clean, well thought out engine bay. Add in a paint scheme to match and yep, looks nice!

New valve seals today, looked at the timing but did not need adjusting. Started it up and heard lifter tick. Turns out I didn't seat the distributor cap properly.

pulled the axles,bagged them to go to work this week to swap bearings.pulled starter,flex plate,drained oil and pulled the filter,plugs wires.

You've certainly been busy. I guess the bearings are pressed onto the axle shafts. It's a shame you have to pull the trans again after installing the new one. Did you have a problem with the starter and flexplate?
