decided to pull the pan off today.everything looked good,no filings.one of the windage tray screws was loose and wouldn't tighten up.pulled the tray off and one of the clips that attach the tray to the pan had broken off.I'm gonna see if mildon can sell me all new hardware and hopefully a new sticker for the repaint, the zinc finish isn't holding up very well.

Well, like an idiot, broke another part. I don’t know what possessed me to do this, but grabbed the “Buick” emblem on the tailgate and yanked on it. It was going to have to be removed eventually anyway, since it’s on the wrong side. I have another one that I got off eBay, but it’s a little crusty. Was hoping to re-use this one, but so much for that.

The worse part is it took off some of the woodgrain underneath. Thankfully, when I went to visit my mom over Thanksgiving, we came across a folder with documentation on the bodywork when it got re-painted, so I have the precise manufacturer and style of the vinyl. So add that to the “re-do” list. :blam:

Finished welding the hotside pipes for the Monte.

I took the wife and kid to breakfast, and afterwards the wholesale club and looking for neighbors roofing. I realized that the exhaust is pretty annoying, so there's a new push to install the Borla Pro XS my buddy sent me for Christmas. The Pig is just too damned loud.

I think if you used some 3M double sided tape and lined it back up with a straightedge, that could go in the re-use pile.

Plotting to make a trip to Renicks on Thursday to see if Joesregalproject left any good parts there. 😉 Now to keep it a secret from the wife so she doesn't make new plans for me...
The other day did I post this? I might of been wrong. Some how Murphy heard of my plans, inlaws said they are going to come over & visit Thursday. :blam: Now the plan is to find out when they plan to show up.

Unless you already know those Borlas will do the job for you, trust the guy who has to do everything twice? 🤔 There’s some logic there somewhere?

I absolutely love these. Even have one on my V6 Tacoma. No raspy rice burner nonsense. Just a mellow growl even on the V6. Now my big block will talk to you foot to the floor nicely but at highway speed unless you are under heavy load (fighting lots of headwind etc) the ole girl almost goes quiet. If you are tight on space, the one size smaller is only mildly louder.
