this sounds interesting.. i'd like to do this on my 80 regal. did you get new bushings for a g body or did you have to order f body ones? i'd like to know what to get so i can do this to mine too!
x2! I have access to a few 80s F bodies and I might be doing this upgrade.

The f-bodies came with a few different sizes in front sway bars so you need to measure it. The one I have is 34mm, but they can be found in 36mm as well. IROC's and WS6 cars are the best source. You can get matching bushings from your local parts store for an F-body (Moog synthetic readily available) and you can retain your g-body brackets. The f-body brackets won't work.

gotta do this! looks like the f body bushings fit in the g-body brackets no problem, seems like an easy swap! i assume i just use stock g-body end links/bushings with this?

I pulled my carb off the motor to send it out to be rebuilt. I haven't been able to drive the car for weeks due to it not starting because it was flooding. There was like an inch of gas down in the intake when I pulled it off. 😱

Yep piece of cake. Here's the Moog PN's too for the sway bar bushings. They aren't always listed in metric sizes and if your math sucks you're SOL:
34MM: K6457
36MM: K6459

Keep in mind there's also a few smaller sway bars out there, that's why I said it's a good idea to measure them. I believe there's a 28MM, 30M and 32MM used on f-bodies too....someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to pass bad info.

Put a new center-link, inner and outer tie rod ends with new adjuster sleeves. The center-link was bad, so I figured I'd just replace everything.Handles a lot better than the 25 year old parts that were on it. Now I need to get it to the alignment shop.

got back from a kick *ss indoor car show at Atlanta congress center. I hopped my gbody on the freeway throwing sparks and 3wheeled every corner home. Bet no1 done that lol

thanks for the part numbers! i assume the bigger the sway bar the better right? i think i've already located a 34mm

No. Like everything else in a car, the suspension is an engineered system. Just putting a huge front sway bar does not make a car handle better. It may *feel* better, and is a step in the right direction but you really need to upgrade your springs, shocks, and especially the rear suspension to equal it all out.

I have the 36mm front bar on my '87 which is a VERY stiff bar. It's actually almost too much for a G-body. To counter the front bar I added a Spohn Pro-touring adjustable rear sway bar, adjustable shocks and stiffer springs to get the rear suspension closer and more balanced with the front.
