Didn't win anything, but did not expect too! The same nicely restored muscle cars always win every thing. My car is the basterd child. 1980 Monte Carlo, six cylinder, and a turbo. They do not like that stuff, but I do.

Don’t feel bad Zach, it’s the same crap around here too. Your beautiful Monte is a winner in our books around here all day long.

I give the old girl some love. Put some glaze on the paint and buffed it out some. Polished the rims too. Then I took it to a free car show three miles from home.View attachment 116937 Didn't win anything, but did not expect too! The same nicely restored muscle cars always win every thing. Had to remove the driver’s side window to remove the horribly rusted in place and wore out old door handle. Snapped both mounting studs off they were so bad. No biggie, new brushed handles are waiting in the wings to go back on anyways.

Figured while the door glass was out, I’d remove, clean, detail, paint, re-lube and put the brushed finish on the door locks.

Also while the glass was out, I removed the old paint overspray, Pick n Pull paint pen markings (it was obviously a theft recovery at some point in it’s life), and replaced the broken guide and wear button.

Your look is rubbing off on me, I was prepping some of the bathroom stuff to get a gunmetal grey I thought would look good then noticed it looked nice as the brushed look like yours. Now I just need to find the satin clear I had for the car to make sure they stay that way

wow, i didn't know road race cars ran that much caster and camber. thank you for the info.

we never ran close to that 10 degree caster in any of our circle track cars even on the left side which had more caster to help to turn left. With 10 dgree caster the steering will be real heavy. Also I have never seen anyone replocate the lower control arms to add camber or caster, you just a need a shorter upper which also gives you a quicker camber gain with the shorter arc and if you want to change caster you can lenghen the front arm of the upper or shorter the rear arm

Pulled the wheels off one at a time today, cleaned them up, and finally swapped over to the near mint center caps I’ve had painted and sitting on my bench for a coupla months now.
They all look so much better with all the sanding dust and crap cleaned off them.

If anyone has these wheels and needs a set of these caps, I now have a full set plus a couple that would be available for sale. They’re driver quality or slightly better, but they just might be better than what you’ve currently got.
PM me if interested.
