I only jabbed it in to start mocking it up. the engine did run (drove the blazer into the shop) but has a knock somewhere, think it has a spun bearing. trans supposedly has only 10k on a rebuild. I only paid $500 for the thing, and already scavenged the brakes (front & rear) and spindles, going to be using the front seats, computer and wiring, and some metal from the floors for patches. I may even try re-using the roof rack, as mine is pretty well shot. I even got a little money back selling the front clip and reese hitch to a buddy of mine! its starting to look like a turkey after thanksgiving!

the trick'll be getting the other 4.3 out of the astrovan I picked up for $100 from my old neighbor. the thing runs great ($15 fuelpump from rockauto). I plan on using the bottom end from the TBI 4.3, and the heads and intake from the vortec 4.3. I'm not looking for a huge powerhouse for the car, I just want the dependability from the fuel injection, and supposedly that combo is supposed to gain about 20 flywheel hp.
Do you have a build thread for this one? I am interested.

I changed the turning signal switch and changed it's fluid yesterday. The turning signal cancel cam looked real iffy. The thin metal strip was peeling off but didn't have a spare one so I put everything back together. The horn seemed to work properly but a few minutes later the horn went on and it would not go off so I pulled the wires off the horn and will be changing the signal cam today. The brakes feel real good but the weather is nasty so I hope it clears up today to test.... :)

What did I do. Pushed it outside, installed the passenger side B pillar trim, then fired it off and let it run for another heat cycle! Damn it sounds good, but I need to get the interior done so I can start driving and logging.

changed the turn signal cam so that is fixed, lousy weather so I got out my MSD 85551, took it apart to sandblast the rust and to lock out the advance. I removed the E curve distributor since it wasn't needed as the box sets up the timing. Got the 85551 installed and the GP fired up right away. Set the timing and let her run for a while. I was doing some other stuff, getting the tack set up since the 85551 has no tach lead so I'll double up on the tach lead from the box. The GP stalled which surprised me so I turned the key off and then turned it to run and the fuel pump sounded strange. The GP fired up again but wasn't running right. I checked the fuel pressure and it was down below 35 lbs. It slowly dropped before that and at 20 lbs the engine cuts. When I turn the key to on the fuel pump doesn't turn on right away like it use to and then only pumps for a second or two. The pump isn't hot and leaving the car for a while the pump will cycle on like normal but pressure is down. So it looks like I'll be installing a new pump this week...

yes but I bought the whole system from a buddy of mine so no warranty. The other thing is if you try to warranty something from Walbro I heard if they deny your warranty you owe them $40. I'll check the wiring and the relay to make sure but it sounds like a bad pump to me.

Updated the interior today. Completed the Blazer seat upgrade before the Blazer brakes. Painted the tunnel cover and attached the console brackets. Except for the droopy headliner, it's starting to come together. IMG_20191027_173735027.jpg IMG_20191027_173759534.jpg
