What did you do to your G-Body today? [2019]

Dont watch it! That's a rabbit hole you can climb out of!

But seriously, he spent a couple years putting all the myths and conjecture to the test on the dyno and the street. He's honest and shows exactly how he does stuff. Its a pretty big wake up, as I was once a "Do it Right" guy myself. You can really learn what corners can be cut and where to save a buck.

Richard Holdender on Facebook is another one, hes a legit professional guy that tests out stuff on the dyno.
It's funny because I watch both types of people both on youtube and facebook. You see people on the sloppy public page that put together these ratty builds over the week go to the track and run a 9 or an 8. then you have people with these high dollar builds that take them months if not years and they go to the track and have nothing but problems and an 11sec time slip

Today I resurrected a small block from the dead this 87 350 from a 2wd gmc I junked years ago needed a crankshaft for the 357 not so magnum build
Parts list
.040 350 block stock rod with arp bolts
Cast pistons 10.5 compression with metric ring pack
Standard crankshaft cast
041 heads 1.94 1.5 valve cut.030
1105 summit camshaft 2100 comp chain
I have other camshafts but this one has been on the shelf longest
Intake was thinking of using a stock 1984 z/28 I have others
Carburetor Holley 750vs or 600vs
The car has 1 3/4 headers and 3.5”exhaust that is staying and I’m not building the engine to work with the exhaust if it hurts power I don’t care the stock 305 doesn’t mind the big exhaust we can pick on that engine later
2bolt 350 block is for sale 100$ std bore
I only needed the crankshaft

Installed my dash cover. It’s been a long journey changing this interior from burgundy like the seats, to all black.

Over the weekend I pulled the TA timing cover off to install a "new" rebuilt factory one from a member on the v8buick forum. Oil pressure is better... but not by much. I pulled the cam to inspect the front cam bearing. It's like new. About as much wear as you'd expect on a 14,000 mile bearing. Shiny is gone, that's about it. I have yet to install the adjustable regulator and I'm not sure what spring is inside. Spinning my ta pump with a drill produced a nasty grinding noise (cover off engine), so it was ****y. Also my dad wanted to media blast something so he nabbed my intake and went to town. Came out pretty good. Replaced the leaky intake gaskets and used some of that copper spray-a-gasket on the valley pan to seal it. I think the stock 67lb intake aided in sealing just by weight, so with the aluminum being 50lbs lighter I went the copper spray route. Driving it around, it feels spunkier, and pulls harder from 60mph+ than before. Still some re-tuning to do, but I'd say it went pretty well. Still got a nasty exhaust leak tho. Vibrates the whole car. Starts at 45mph and is gone at 75. 80mph on the highway it is.
I've got my eyeball on a replacement engine so I won't have to rush my old engine and I can get this wheezing turd out of my car. We'll see how that goes. Keep in mind, I jammed this engine together in 2 days thanksgiving weekend two years ago. I'm just as surprised as you are that it makes over 200rwhp and still runs (mostly).

I thought about getting one of those, but would like to go LED. But think those have something like the Mercury switch or whatever they call it that turns on when elevated
