Finally got the gas gauge to work! My suspicion that the sender floater was getting stuck on the baffle was confirmed. We had to bend the floater arm to clear the baffle to finally get it to work.

The way we tested it was pretty clever. My father-in-law attached some thread to the floater arm, and pulled up and down to determine that we were getting full travel. Unfortunately it took two tries, and purging and re-filling the tank twice until we finally got it all dialed in. I feel a lot more confident driving it now knowing what my fuel level is! :giggle:

Is this a bad time to tell you I found my stock sending unit?

Swapped out the turbo in the granny Malibu. Works really well again. Found a large oil leak coming from the valley cover. That's a new one for me. It's always something with this shitbox.

****in Iowa weather. Just f*ck
it. Dont even bother going outside from mid November to mid may. And then dont bother from mid july to early september.

It was 35 a few days ago, lots of snow melting and water. I guess some got up in my starter... So I had to blowtorch it to get it unstuck to turn over so I could go get a battery. The cold weather spikes (30f one day, -20 the next) killed my less than 1 year old battery. Machine says its fine at the parts store, but I know it's got a bad cell. Bought a new battery.

Removed my 3" SS Hi Flow Metal Matrix Cat Converter and installed a Frozen Boost 3" SS All Flow Cat in its' place.
Just had to add a 4 bolt flange one end and flare the other end to slip over my down pipe.
