Sold the spare Th400 and stripped the 862 heads off the 5.3 to sell the short block.

Selling for spare part $$$

Too bad, this ol 5.3 still had the cross hatch in the cylinders.

The dash cam, not the dash? And No Beer tool used on the dash, only the cam? Bummer, another myth of the magic garage beer tool shot down in flames.

5.3 with 862 heads?? Not surprised you kept those castings but that 325 cube is going to make someone happy, just think boost.!

Spent the afternoon taking pictures of paint drying. Did whittle a new spacer for the power steering bracket that mounts off the front header bolt but no pics of the action; watching a lathe do its thing is about as interesting as watching the paint!! Still have to finish the paint shot on the P/S pump itself and re-assemble the whole mess. Forty years ago I would have considered sending the whole mess out for chroming!! Just to baffle the curious. Doesn't improve the performance but does shed crud and corruption easier than paint and can be more resistant to scratches that would remove paint so maybe a benefit. Not now though; way too much $$$ and not the best quality.

Oh, I also cleaned the wagon's door jams etc. She was a dirty girl. It's only been like... 7 years, right?

This morning was mostly sunny so I went out to run my speaker wire on the passenger side and made the cuts for the speakers. To do that, I had to disconnect the wiring and remove the window regulator. I did the same with the speaker wire as the window and lock wiring, running it through shrink tubing before going through the door jam plugs.

As I was finishing up with replacing the plugs and kick panel, dark clouds rolled in and the wind began blowing much harder. I knew that it would begin raining very soon, so I picked up all of the tools that were out on the driveway just in time to close the car when the rain began.
The rain only lasted a short time, but the wind kept up, and it was freakin cold.
Finally, a couple of hours later, the sky began to clear and the wind started to die down, so I went back out and I actually got finished with the passenger side panel installation. The only thing left to do is to get the speakers hooked up and installed on the panels, and then hook them to the stereo.
Here is the final set-up (sans speakers).
