Mineral spirits cut the undercoating on my car really well. Wiped it right off.

Spent them day welding up stuff so I can make it look decent, went to start the car before I left.
Goes to fire- and backfires a bit.
I think nothing of it, hit the starter again and- KAZAK KAPOW TING BANG BANG-
Nearly fill my pants, pull the plugs and the motor rotates freely, and all I get from the starter is a buzzing sound. Not to mention my battery cables are H-O-T. :blam:

Guess I’m tearing this starter out tomorrow.

I finally figured out I have the wrong alternator bracket for the serpentine set up. I like the large body alternators where the rectifiers don't get stacked so they run cooler and they come stock with higher amps. The alternator bracket I have makes the alternator too high so I have to find a alternator bracket from an 88-92 5.7 camaro so I can use the AD244 alternator that comes stock with 145 amps.

Okay, just got a call from Mosteller Auto repair, finally after some time they are giving me an update. The Head Mechanic can't find another Pump to Carburetor fuel line so's he is going to a shop that specializes in Rubber hoses and get some of that Metal Flex line then manipulate/route it in. They also tell me that the Choke isn't right, it's working as it should, it gets its voltage and heats up the spring, it's just not adjusted right, that'll get corrected or stop the Oil-Choke light in the dash from flashing. And finally since I have a Carburetor rebuild kit sitting in the car he's going to do that too as well, along with timing adjustment which may address the slight misfire issue that is going on.

Then there was yesterday, I had to call the County Treasurer, apparently they had both the Title and the Plates done last Wednesday. They are suppose to have sent them in the mail yesterday. I didn't get either today, I expect that I will receive them both tomorrow. . . . . Still having to call them just to get that stuff sent out 🤬.
