What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

Today I put Seafoam Hydra Trans Tune into the Steering Pump, Rolled the Steering around Left/Right a bit (Engine Off), Started the car, rolled the Steering back and forth while what I perceived to 2000 RPMs and higher, finally got much of the Steering binding out, Drove it around a bit. Steering now feels more Smooth while in Drive, but while parked I am getting some binding and squealing noise if the steering wheel is turned to maximum Left/Right, While in gear this does not happen. For now I am going to let this stuff sit allot longer than the suggested 30 minutes to clean the Pump and components out further before putting this High Mileage Power Steering Fluid in. Seemed to cure the problem anyway at least enough to drive it to the shop for the headlight issue I have.

I have to do this with the Malibu (Replacing the lower Door Hinge Driver Side) Any suggestions on how to take the door off with only one person?
I was fortunate to have some tires and wood planks to set under the open door. These are what the door is laying on in the pic. My Caballero is far from perfect. Otherwise i would have added towels, etc . This was by far my best experience. Somehow i got this done in little over an hour. Once i got the hinges swapped, i just tilted the door back upright, added a couple more pieces of wood and bolted it back on. Last time i did this was 30 years ago with a floor jack and 4 hours of swearing. Lol

😎 Thanks for the reply, Yeah I have a few Tires laying around along with some wood. When I get the Malibu out of the shop for it's headlight issue, replacing the lower hinge is next. I didn't rebuild them like you did I just bought a replacement. Anyway you have provided me with something I can now use with more confidence. Better than paying worthless body shop like we have here in my town. Thanks again 👍.

I put a new LT1 MAF and translator, 60 lbs injectors, and matching TT chip in my 86 T Type and it ran much better. Then the brakes completely failed and I almost crashed it, thank God for emergency brakes.

I'm not going to say anything nasty about the guy, because I didn't go through the brakes yet, but I had a well known Turbo Buick shop look at the car right after I bought it because it was having brake issues, paid $200 bucks to get a thumbs up to drive it. So I assumed it was safe to drive... Even though I knew it had other issues. Needless to say I'm pretty pissed about that. I said F it, I ordered all new pre bent stainless lines, braided stainless hoses, and a hydroboost system from Kirban.

What exactly failed?

Not sure, the master cylinder still has plenty of brake fluid in it, pedal just suddenly went to the floor and won't pump up.

Scared me enough to just overhaul the system. I don't trust the "powermaster" brake booster for one thing, and the lines look pretty rusty.
