Yes it is, Steve. It started out as a Caddy air cleaner assembly. I shortened the existing snorkel, welded shut all the breather holes and just recently obtained a donor air cleaner from another member of the forum. Thanks again, Paul, As you see, your crusty old air cleaner assembly came to good use. I cut the snorkel off of the donor and grafted it onto the existing unit. All in all, I'm pleased at how well it turned out.
Here's what it looked like after attaching the other snorkel. I also cut the lid down to create an open element assembly.
I wanted to emulate Donovan's air cleaner on Oldscool.
Again, I apologize for the shitty picture.View attachment 149263

Started grinding all the bubbles on the lower doors and drivers side lower quarter panel. Going to fix the rust before it gets out of control and and repaint all the grey again. Pictures to fallow.
Thank you, D,That turned out great Jack, nice job!
And happy belated? birthday!!
180 parts store stant. Recently flushed year old champion rad, yearish old everything else. Flowkooler water pump. 4th gen f body fans. I'll be sitting at a stoplight, leave, then the gauge swings down to 150 then back up to 180 due to the sheer volume of coolant the flowkooler can move.what thermostat do you have and it looks like your battery is kinda low....the gauges look great... 👍

Temp is too consistent for an air pocket imo. I drove it for 100 miles after the gauge swap and it holds steady at 180 driving around. Went 70mph(3krpm) for about 20 minutes, temp off the highway was maybe 185/190. Drive around town a few minutes, temp resumes at 180. It's got no symptoms of overheating or doing what my previous gauges did, the Wild temp swings. I'll double check hose temp with my temp gun, but it seems legit.sounds like an airlock and 180° is too cool for an engine to run.
