What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

We..ell, not being a consumer of beer any more due to personal health and life choices, having to share the stuff wouldn't factor in. One thing does puzzle me here though, Was the existing master cylinder not offering up sufficient line pressure to get a good quick stop for you?

the 1/ 18" moved too much fluid but not enough pressure, the smaller the bore the higher the pressure but the smaller the bore the more the pedal moves so you have to find a nice balance. Using smaller bores you are basically adding leverage without changing the position of the pin on the pedal.

Whooo! It's going to be another hell weekend at work, but right after a long nap.

The Dent is filled but the Bondo is not even with the panel, it's sanded smooth but still has low area's, I am using a level to determine how much I am going to need and where. I will add a touch more Bondo in at least two to three area's.

While the Bondo was drying before sanding it down. The trunk needed done. I sanded down the minor surface rust where the Spare sits. Rust treated that area, Sprayed the rest with Truck Bed Liner after a good clean and Vacuum. Still wasn't dry in at the time of the picture, but it still looks alot better than what it was. I will be getting to spraying the lower area tomorrow.

Blew a left front tire out just passed the 8th mile first round today at the track lots of fun
I had a .093 light to his 33 so I was about to go home even if it didn’t pop
I must have picked something up in the pits driving around
Now for the fun part NO SPARE
Since I’m 5 miles from the track one of the guys ran me home for a stock wheel and tire just to get me back on the road and the only place open with a 205/70/15
Walmart
Lets see what tomorrow brings

Put away the rebuilt future AC airbox, then pulled the future dashboard off the shelf to begin prep work on it. I should have gotten pics of the mess that the PO left on the backside of it. Must have been a warning light type instrument cluster originally, because nearly half of the wires to the PC were cut, and lots of custom wiring and a few aftermarket gauges came with the dashboard when I bought it at the wrecking yard a few weeks ago. Using my Haynes manual, I was able to identify most of the wiring, and have narrowed the possibilities of the other unknowns.

PontiacGP, for you this is probably all road already travelled but just as a possibility for your consideration there was an excellent article called "Braking News", written by Ron Ceridono, that appeared in the November 2019 issue of Street Rodder. Among the items discussed was incorrect m/c cylinder bore, along with samples of the math involved to determine line pressure given a certain bore and x amount of pedal pressure. Now I cheerfully both acknowledge and agree that what the author is speaking about may pertain more to rods and customs than late models but as a reference read it is interesting. The issue is long off the shelf but you might still be able to find it on "streetrodder.com". or someone on the forum might have an extra issue kicking around. The mag itself is an ex-publication; it, like the parrot, has ceased to be, thanks to the indifference of the publisher to apparently everything (except huge profits generated for the benefit of its share and stockholders). It was one of a large group of specialty publications that got assimilated and then eradicated in the last year or two.
Anyway, thought of this article this am and figured it would do no harm to commend it to your attention.

Drove it to church earlier. On the way home the stupid IAC whistles like a hound dog when not under load....stupid aftermarket throttle body being stubborn.
Also had a guy in a fox body rev on me at an opposing light lol! Haven't had the opportunity for any streetlight fun yet, I'm sure I'll get challenged at some point.

It's looking much better now that the suspension has settled. Nice stance.

Yep, I'm glad the Hotchkis springs are sitting as advertised. To some it might seem still high, but as of now I only have several inches of ground clearance and any lower will cause some issues. It rides nice as is, good enough for me.

RE: bondo, how much/thick is what you have applied now?
Almost a whole can, dent was still rather deep on either side of the center of the dent that I pulled out with the glue puller. Grated and sanded allot yesterday. Around the edges of the bondo are fairly flush with the panel, just have to work alittle more of the center out evenly. Going through with a level to find the high/low spots.
