Got the Monte's license plate registration sticker in the mail... almost 2 months after I ordered it. Guess, I need to fix that injector O-ring now.

What? You don't like spraying fuel all over a hot engine compartment?

A welder I am not. But I managed to zap in a frame repair washer. As far as I can tell all welding on the frame is completed.

The washer extended a bit over the edge of the frame, so I cut it down and made a relief cut on the washer and bent that outer edge downwards then burned it in.
Hole is a little warbly, but that can be fixed. had to persuade it to fit just perfectly so that oblonged the hole a tad. no big deal. Pics are just before I finished it, so there is probably still some spots I missed. It passes the hit it really hard with a hammer test so its good.

you'll never learn a new skill if you never try........I would grind those welds and turn the heat up to lay another bead. The welds look cold and I don't see any penetration in the material

Been slow going lately.

I finally got the last exhaust manifold bolt to come out this morning. It’s been too hot and humid to do much outside, so I just worked at them a little at a time over the past couple weeks. Soaking with PB Blaster, tapping with a small hammer, etc. Best part: Not one broke!

After the temps/humidity drop later this week or next, I can finally get the old exhaust out of Elsie and put the new stuff in. Going with Flowtech 11104FLT headers, 2.5” pipes, and a pair of Spintech 9334s. Should get started on Sunday.

Here’s pics of some of the manifold bolts that came out. They’d only been in for 14 years. Don't know what the bracket in the second photo was for, but the lock nut holding it on would not let go of the bolt/stud. it had been in the rear-most position on the passenger side (#8 Cylinder.)
