What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

I believe this one only has a TV cable. The TH350 has a TV cable and a vacuum modulator. I actually got my spare TH350 on the engine stand after some sketchiness with a ladder as an A-Frame and some ratchet straps to lift with.

It needs a TV cable replaced and a selector shaft seal replaced, and it may get front and rear seals while I am here. That being said, I am totally in the market for a 200-4r.
You're right. man. My bad. I'm thinking the other way around. When I went from metric 200 to TH 350. The 200 had a TV cable and the 350 had the vacuum controlled system.. 😵
My 200 failed shortly after I first got my car. It wouldn't up shift. Can you say boat anchor? I guess it is a common failure with these transmissions.

Got past the starter/header tangle and have the A/C airbox installed. I had to remove the inner fender and the valve cover to wiggle it into place, but it's in, and I am getting more excited at the prospect of having A/C.
Some pics of the progress.

Still have many connections to make, but that will be done in due time. I am hoping that I can get the interior venting installed some evening this week, and then put the dashboard in over the coming weekend.
Big accomplishment!

Yeah, it's a situation where you can't get the header off with the starter in, and you can't get the starter out with the header on, so both had to come out at the same time and untangle like an IQ Puzzle. On top of all that, it requires lifting the engine about 3 inches on the passenger side.

I'm not going to hate on the 200 too much. I got it well used and beat on that thing like a rented mule. It's a lot to ask of any transmission to turn a 2.41 rear gear. I will probably keep it on the shelf as a rebuilder once it gets pulled out.

You're absolutely right, Steve.

My 200 actually shifted nice and firm until it decided to quit one day. Fortunately, at the time, I had a friend who owned a transmission shop and traded my 200 for a rebuilt TH 350.

Found out some forms of rust might actually register on a hardness scale.
From wire wheels to 36 grit ceramic flap disks, nothing touched this stuff:

Finally threw a hissy fit and slapped it with a grinding wheel, and that actually worked. Followed up with some Evaporust gel and showed that cancer who owns this car!

Put some Ospho on the floor after I cleaned the gel out of the seam on the left.
Hopefully I’m done with this ordeal after this.

that is because the rust you are dealing with was formed on sheet metal produced in the US, not china......
