What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

I had to order new flex lines, the conventional caliper has a larger bango bolt so I ordered the flex lines for a 77 Camaro and they cam in this afternoon. I had tighened the line to to the current flex hose too tight. That was the first time using cunifer brake line and you don't have to crank on it like a metal line. I had to use vice grips to loosen it which reminded me to buy some good quality line wrenches and throw the junk I have in the scrap. I would have liked to chage that fitting but it was a long one and I only had one long one left and didn't know how I'd make out on the other side. I'm lucky I saved it cause the other side would not budge so I cut the line and put a new fitting on. The bracket for the flex line is different on the Camaro so I modified the G body brakets so the Camaro flex lines would work. I plan to change the bracket fit a correct one so I can get the clip installed to hold the flex line in place. When I change the brakets I'll change the messsed up fitting. Neither of the connection leak so that is good. I just did a quick bleed so I can move the car and I'll finish it up tomorrow. These calipers feel better than the low drag calipers I was using... :popcorn:

I’m stocking up on fire extinguishers.

Was going to finish some welding, but mother nature decided to kick iowa in the nuts today so I've been without power for going on 8 hours now. Tree bits are fn everywhere, tipped over semis, i saw a truck's back bumper hooked on a stump on fb, sh*ts wild man.

@TurboZach you aight?
I have never been alright by some peoples standards. Yesterday day I was headed to Western Iowa and my boss called me and said turn around and head back you can't work there today. I am glad I did. I went to Boone in the afternoon. Boone and Ogden got hit hard. They had the trains all stopped. Semi trucks tipped over all over. The DOT was moving tree limbs off the highways. A few corn fields flattened by Carol. When I got home I did not have any damage, but three miles West and everyone had fallen trees. I got lucky.

It was about 5 days back when I stepped back to look at the work I have done. . I wasn't satisfied with the primer/paint behind the Door, I certainly didn't want a poor looking paint and body work job done, or showing through the paint as it where.

So I finally decided to get my arse to Walmart and buy the $20.00 Orbital Sander. The Bondo job I did on the panel behind the door was good but wasn't smoothed out the way it should have been. It was Wavy looking where I was using a wheel to grind down the Bondo and definitely showing through the paint. Above the Wheel Well is where i had attempted to correct some deep scratches from the sand paper. Now this has been corrected. I should have bought the Orbital Sander allot sooner 😢 , Not to say my hand sanding was that bad. it wasn't but still could have been better. These two area's are now sanded smooth, primed and painted and not showing any thing else in the paint. Now awaiting clear coat as I get more of the stuff in on Friday.

Finally getting around to hopefully doing away with a few of the issues once completed, main one being replacing the pan that was leaking and partial crushed from when it laid frame

I finished up the brakes today, I'm glad I don't rush doing thr brakes cause I forgot to tighen up the banjo bolts yesterday. I removed all the bleeders and wrapped the thread with a little teflon tape to prevent air sneaking by the threads. It's impossible to find SAE speed bleeders north of the border but I found the great brake bleeding tool for under $15. It has a one way valve in the cover so it does what a speed bleeder does but without the cost of $23 a pair. It has a magnet to hang the bottle is real convenient and the tool works really well. Brakes feel great but my GP is stuck in its place till tomorrow. This is the bleeder tool I used...

Fair warning, the magnet is useless on those. Other than that, I love mine.

Changed the output shaft seal and trans filter on the new transmission. Had a little more water in the oil than I would have liked, but I am going to give it a try anyways. Worst case scenario, the TH350 goes in and the 200-4r gets a visit from the rebuilder fairy.
