If I use classic insurance there goes the GP as a DD...

Hagerty has unlimited mileage and as long as you are not on a drag strip or roundy round you are covered.

not in Canada...your car has to be 1979 or older and you have to have another car licenced and insured as your daily driver

I use Hagerty on the G-bodies, mostly because it is agreed value coverage based upon an estimate/appraisal and you have the option to buy the car back if you want to restore it. I don't put enough miles on the car(s) for it to matter as they are sunny day drivers.

Made a shock tower brace yesterday from some material I had laying around. It's only 7/8", 1/16" wall tube so it's not as strong as the UMI one but with my rear frame brace I made I think it will do just fine.

that is nice work you did, have you considered tack welding floating nut plates to make it easier to install the shocks?

we used lots of them on aircraft.....we used 3/32 flush rivets to install them. They deform the bolt threads to lock them but they are resuable, they use them on most the access doors on aircraft and when the door is removed the screws or bolts are bagged to reuse
