My new Dorman vac ball imploded during cam break-in in the coupe this summer....going to try to find a decent GM one I think.
Obviously not a high-overlap cam!

Spent some time chopping up the junkyard trunk floor to get ready for the tank swap. The neighbor is gonna do the welding, hopefully make some good progress this week.
Also swapped out the trunk light bulb to a bright azz LED....

disconnect the fuel line at the carb and plug the line, start the engine and let it run completely out of fuel so the bowl is empty and you wont have any issues with deposits..... I ran my GP on pure gas, no ethanol, and that left no deposits in the carb in the spring

Ain't snowing yet so I may just run it empty and fill with pure gas then do that thing you said.

with the pure gas I just left it alone and it started in the spring no problem, when I removed the horn to make an adjustment there were no deposits in the bowl

Played with the replacement last night, wanted to get the ol girl runable for today since it is supposed to be nice and hoping to get out with a few friends. I still didn't like how it lined up so I will be playing with it again today but technically it would have worked I think but still wasn't exactly like the other side so didn't want to fire it up until I got it closer
