Installed new Metro door weatherstripping. Real nice fit. Also playing (pun) with the miles of spaghetti under where the new dash will live. There are plugs under there that I didn’t disconnect, wires that go to nothing that I know of. Inside the dash at the drivers left knee position appears to be the “buzzer” box assembly. Can I remove the entire assembly without affecting anything? That would be the perfect place to install my new Window Racer.

After $200 something in brake cables I’ve finally got the parking brake to work with the replacement caliper I got last night.

I’ll be doing a write up later.

More progress on the taller inner front wheel tubs. At least 2" additional clearance where the OE plastic inners currently make contact. It's currently installed using the front & rear most OE fender anchor points. This week will be installing the other 2 flange mounting points @ their respective higher locations & rebuilding the flange for an OE appearance.

My A/C to Heat only conversion box from GBodyParts.com seems to have a mystery location as of this AM. It show's a shipping label created @ 12:56pm on 2/3 (FedEx) w/a ETA of today 2/8/21 but zero updates after the shipping label was created. I emailed GBP.com & their follow-up response this morning was "They are in-stock & the paper work show it's in shipping".

Just blew 90% of my pay check (last Friday) and bought almost $600.00 worth of parts needed for the SBC 350 swap over. First set from Warehouse E (Rock Auto) Came in today, I was supposed to get more today but because of bad weather those packages are delayed. Appointment for Engine swap is happening in a few more days. Shop will have to wait for the rest of the parts from different Warehouses to come in on the 11th (which is the day the car goes in). I have to either stop in or make a call a day before to give them more details on what I want done. Time frame and Cost should come up in the conversation.

Parts I received today; Heater Core, Lower Radiator Hose, Radiator Cap, Distributor Cap, Distributor Mount Gasket, Fuel Filter, Thermostat, Thermostat Gasket, Starter.

congrats on the swap, even a phone call to keep the shop in the loop is a sign of good faith, they'll appreciate it as they're running a business and everything.when I was building my motor i spent some time there talking and making sure we were both on the same page and just showing how serious I was.not in a harassing fashion just.making a connection is all.

Wired up a harness for the temp sensor to my electric fan set up in the Monte. Just need the adaptor to run the sensor into the thermostat housing and it’ll be set.

Phoned Napa to see if my brake parts were in, found out that they were, and proceeded to add more layers of winter grade clothing as a barrier against the -30 ambient temps. Lit the truck off, it fired easily, and let it warm up. Headed over to the distributor, picked up my parts, discovered that, instead of being given three sets of 4 pins, (12 in all), what I had received was 3!! pins. Not even enough to do one complete pin swap, never mind all three diffs. Get on the cell to call them and can't see the screen because the sun has blurred it right out. Finally get them on the line and a rep comes to the door. Get the problem explained, learn in return that these pins are sold by the each and that the weekend guy messed up. Balance of pins now have to come from out west and probably won't get here until next Monday.

As for going elsewhere, due to age these have become a non-stock item in all likelihood and would have to be ordered no matter who I phoned.c Bother.

Need groceries and the bank sent paper that has to be returned. Did manage to score a circulator heater for the S-10. First item on the spring service list. Will have to venture forth tomorrow to run errands as the furnace dude is coming on Friday, to hopefully figure out what is making the furnace sound like there is someone inside and trying to swing a cat by the tail with not enough room.

Got my floor brackets in from Scat today, so I went to work getting the seats mounted properly. I'm not 100% happy with the brackets, but they work and the seats fit nicely! Gratuitous pics just cause...
