I took my gas tank out to figure out how I want to route my vent line. I found a patch no my tank so I’m going to get a new tank. A759DBDC-EA1A-4594-9D01-C8D181D6444B.jpeg D80E9883-CC88-40C1-A236-BADB784FC3AB.jpeg
it’s to bad it has a patch . It won’t have taken much to clean it up and paint it .

that's clean compared to the car's around here.nice
I grew up in Minnesota and most of the gbodys I have owned where in the late 80s early 90s and this is by far the cleanest one I have owned. I’m liking the southern cars . I moved to Arkansas 6 years ago and I find all sorts of clean classics. There are a lot of solid old Chevy trucks in this area . Sadly only a few Gbodys that I know of .

I bought both of mine, that I currently own, from down south. No rust and easier to take apart.

So I had to sell my beloved 79 Malibu after having it for over 10 years. I just didn't have anyplace to keep it and it was degrading slowly due to sitting in the driveway, unused. My shop is chock full of toolboxes, equipment and other stuff, plus my 84 Camino, which I planned to be buried in. So what I did form my Camino was go to the machine shop and price out how much it will cost to prep the 400 sbc I want to de-stroke for the car. What would have cost me about $350 usd 12 years ago is now over $1,000 usd. I may end up going in with a 383 I put together years ago and never ran. I have two and I guess I need to choose which one to put heads on.

In the meantime, I'm going to see if there is any way I can use my milling machine to do some of the work myself. I'll have to fabricate a level "cradle" that will have some adjustment and can hold the block rigid in whatever position I need. I will start a new thread on that when I get started.
