Well good news/bad news, Holley finally agreed that there isn't anything else they can think of backfeeding RF noise. So they are sending out a polished refurb to me, but won't be here in time for me to take it out this weekend. Was hoping I was able to find someone to trade the polished unit for a black that wasn't using it at the moment but haven't worked that out yet

It has been months of messing with this at this point hasn't it? Why did it take holley so damn long to come to this conclusion?

I would prefer the black one as well. My 383 came with the silver Holley 750 and they wouldn't swap it for the old school looking Holley from yesteryear. I would prefer the "days gone by" looking one but not enough to go buy one to swap it out. $$$

Part of it is on me since I had been going to Philly to visit my uncle before he recently passed so didn't have time to jump through their hoops immediately. Other part is early on I felt they were dragging their feet and changing the suggestions because they wouldn't have units available for quite a while. Supposedly I got the last one, but still haven't seen the tracking on it yet. I got the return shipping label emailed over, but the guy I was dealing with emailed me back at the end of the day asking for more info and my invoice for mine. So I am hoping he didn't undo what the other guy said he did, since early yesterday morning I had talked to him and was hoping it would go out yesterday with the possibility of getting it Saturday.

I'm hoping dealing with my Autometer GPS speedo goes smoother then what you've been dealing with. I have a few suggestions to try. Hopefully that fixes it. However, I know mine works. It may be getting interference from the new ignition since the motor swap. I saw the speedo pop up to 20mph briefly the other day going thru a neighborhood so that excited me.

First things first. Get the refurb unit in hand. Get your old turkey bagged and tagged and on it's way back. Do the install and light 'er off. See what you got.

If it all goes okay and your hot laps go smoothly, then give some thought to changing the color yourself.

Today, like yesterday, was day off day. Shot the topcoat on the frame job but now too cold to shoot the under coating. Supposed to warm up this weekend. Have not fired up the shop heat as the gas company is now charging usurious rates for gas. May have to totall suspend work out there until spring at this rate. Plug the van battery into its charger and walk away. FAP.

Did get a call that my adapter fittings for the LS oil charging system had come in. Also managed to get the port plug to break free; nice of it to cooperate.

Picked up a box of 60 gr 3 inch screw on flexi-back sanding disks for the 4.5 and a box of 6 inch 80 gr 3M hook it disks for the DA. Used to go with the stick-its but had one so solidly glue itself onto the pad that it tore the surface fabric. PITA; those DA pads aren't cheap.

I have been driving the living snot out of my Bonneville the last couple of months as harvest/deer season is upon us and it has exponentially better headlights than my other vehicles. I did have to add a 20 amp self resetting circuit breaker to my cigarette lighter circuit after the second time my Bluetooth adapter popped the fuse from inrush current while being plugged in.

On a more controversial note, I had another tire break a belt on the front after hitting a pot hole a few months back and decided to temporarily replace the two front wheels with Load Range C Goodyear Marathon trailer tires. They are only speed rated to 75 mph, but they should get me by until spring when I get a full set of tires put on the car for (hopefully) PowerTour. On the upside, the stiffer sidewall almost completely eliminated my wallowing in curves so that's nice.

i hope this is it for you, you've been through so much trying to track the problem down.

Disassembling my door new, old door panels. The felt on the upper door panel was tough to remove, but I finally got it. I think I'm going to paint or possibly reupholster them before I put the new stuff on.
Just in case someone sees this in the future, there is a terrific video by GBody Garage on youtube that explains how to do it
