Long story longer, I had two hankook optimo white wall tires mounted on my steels some years ago, and the idiots (Firestone Tire stores) mounted them black wall out, and didn't remove the old weights when balancing, despite the lady placing a note to do so. Fast forward to now, I ordered two new white wall hankooks and got two more rims from the junkyard. Shops would of course mount them, but I wanted long stems for the use of hubcaps, and every store (save for the last one) said they didn't carry them anymore. A Goodyear affiliated tire store took the new set and mounted them, for 84 ****ing dollars. As for the other two I just wanted flipped around whiteout and rebalanced? No shop would touch em. Went to Firestone first, as i work at the Agricultural Tire Plant i get a discpunt on tires and labor. They came at me with "It's against policy to mount used tires". They aren't junk, they've got less than 100 miles in em. But oh, the set they sold me for my k1500 they had no problem banging those off when I got a nail because of the warranty. Were they not used as well?
Tried the other store down the road (which in hindsight i should've tried first and had them do all 4) and finally got the two flipped around. Took em out to my truck, only one was flipped. They didnt bother cleaning the dirt off the white stripe to tell it was a white wall, so had the guy roll it back, dismount, flip, and balance that
one AGAIN. That place was $50 on the dot.
Why is sh*t so complicated nowadays.
Flip these two, mount these two with new long stems. Jesus tap dancing Christ.
